As you all know, one of our biggest joys at Peltzer Winery is partnering with local charities to raise money for their amazing organizations. Throughout each year we have four major festivals dedicated to raising awareness and funds for our partnering charities all while delivering a fun, family friendly atmosphere for our guests. Activities vary based on season, yet two things remain- y’all are GENEROUS and we are THANKFUL for this supportive community.

This year for our Spring Social on April 6th and April 7th, we are joining forces with you to raise funds for the Kamali’i Foster Family Agency. Here’s how: if you plan to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at our weekend long event, you will purchase a bar access wristband. 100% of the total profits from these sales will go directly to the Kamali’i Foster Family Agency to further their work in our community and beyond.

Kamali’i is the Hawaiian word for “children” and the roots of this organization run deep within Hawaiian culture. KKFA was was started in 1996 by Eric Mortensen and Lee Burton. Each founder had their specific talents to bring to the organization that would aid their passion to “mālama” (take care of) all “Na kamali’i o ka ‘āina” (the children of the land). KFFA was officially incorporated into California in April of 1998.

Since then, Kamali’i has dedicated their work to “Provide foster youth and young adults with quality trained resource families while providing individualized treatment services. Goals of reunification and permanency are supported while empowering youth to be positive participants in their community.” They do this through teaching youths independent living skills, providing  them with clothes, school supplies, and activities. They also use donations to give parenting classes to pregnant and parenting teens. While they teach and provide services to the children themselves, they also provide training for caregivers of at-risk youths and foster parents. KKFA exists to provide children and families with support services that will allow for a healthy and nurturing home environment for a child in need from foster care placement to family reunification”.

Join us at the Spring Social to raise funds for this selfless and deserving cause- you can purchase wristbands HERE.
